After some strong rain showers during the southern winter the Atacama Desert is in full bloom again. It is happening right now! This very special event happens about every 3 – 7 years and is absolutely spectacular. The normally very dry and dusty desert explodes in colors of millions of flowers during the months of September and October.
Since there is a lot of interest at the moment here in Chile on the subject I produced a new video for Youtube that shows the entire event from the rainfalls at the beginning through the maximum of blooming till the end, when it all dries again.
